How will the stairs be used?

Consider whether your outdoor stairway will be in a high-traffic area, such as at the main  entrance to your home, or whether they’ll be utilized less frequently, as with a side or basement door. Some outside stairs are used primarily seasonally, such as with backyard stairs leading to a swimming pool, fire pit, or patio.
