There is no universal interval.
A useful starting point is:
Residential landscaping: approximately every 2–3 months
Pet areas: more frequent rinsing and spot cleaning
Community/public areas: adjust according to traffic
Sports facilities: follow the maintenance program specified for the particular turf system
The actual schedule should be adjusted according to traffic, climate, rainfall, surrounding vegetation, pets and drainage conditions.
Non-Infill Artificial Turf Cleaning: Common Mistakes to Avoid
Mistake 1: Waiting Until the Turf Looks Dirty
Visible dirt is not the only maintenance issue. Leaves, organic material and pet residues can accumulate gradually.
Mistake 2: Using Bleach for Everything
Bleach may remove certain stains effectively, but concentrated chlorine-based products are not automatically suitable for synthetic turf.
Mistake 3: Ignoring Drainage
A clean-looking surface does not necessarily mean that the complete turf system is draining properly.
Mistake 4: Using Excessive Water Pressure
More pressure does not necessarily mean better cleaning. Aggressive spraying can create unnecessary stress on seams and backing.
Mistake 5: Using Household Chemicals Without Checking Compatibility
A cleaner that works well on tiles or concrete may not be appropriate for synthetic fibers or turf backing.
