The installation environment can significantly influence the behavior of artificial turf and adhesive systems.
For many synthetic turf projects, installers aim for moderate ambient conditions, often around:
15–30°C / 59–86°F
However, the acceptable range depends on the backing system, adhesive, sub-base and manufacturer’s technical requirements.
Other important considerations include:
Surface Condition
The sub-base should be clean, stable and free from standing water.
Humidity
Relative humidity should remain within the adhesive manufacturer’s recommended range.
Wind
Strong winds can make large turf rolls difficult to control and can affect seam alignment and adhesive application.
Rain
Seaming and adhesive bonding should generally be avoided when the backing or sub-base is wet unless the adhesive system has specifically been designed and approved for such conditions.
