The overwhelming standout benefit to artificial lawns is efficiency – in terms of long-term savings, ongoing maintenance and time. We have discussed the labour savings in an earlier blog – this principally includes (or rather doesn’t include!) mowing, watering bald patches, trimming edges and clearing up loose cuttings. No longer would you need to set aside half a weekend to preserve your garden’s beauty.
Furthermore, whilst real grass is initially cheaper to install, the lifespan of quality artificial lawns means the saving is ultimately offset, plus you won’t need to invest in pesticides, garden tools, lawnmowers. These secondary savings should not be overlooked and there is even some residual environmental benefit by reducing water usage.
Artificial grass lawns are more resilient to adverse weather conditions and won’t turn to sludgy mud; heavy footfall at your summer barbecue will not wear down the lawn or change its colour to unsightly browns; and, should you have pets, any unfortunate leavings can be cleared up without any trace.
There is also greater flexibility with the surface artificial lawn can be laid upon. They can be laid directly on to hard surfaces like concrete so you won’t need to spend time digging up patios or raking soil as would be required for a real grass lawn.
